Interview Questions By C&H News
A: Yes. It's something that I've been wanting to do for as long as I can remember, although I never knew what I wanted to write about until Timothée came along. His charm intrigued me so much that I began writing about him, I guess you can call it "fanfic". I started out by posting quick POVs, which gradually got more detailed over time, turning into short stories. I eventually decided to create a separate blog in order to compile them in one place for easy reading. I enjoyed creating scenarios with him, or a version of him. They felt so real in my mind. Occasionally, photos of him or certain music would lead to a spark of creativity. After a while, I started noticing that people were interested in reading my stories. I began receiving messages, asking when I will write the next one. I was flattered. That's when I realized that writing is going to be my next creative endeavor! It encouraged me to me to just begin writing my debut novel. I approached it like my fanfic and just started writing whatever came to my mind. I figured I'd just pour all my ideas out on the first draft and then come back several times to edit them until I had my final draft. Thie difference now was that was able to create a more detailed world, along with incorporating additional supporting characters. I was motivated to write something that I would want to read, and hopefully others would too. This book was heavily inspired by him, however it's not about him specifically or his life. If you're a Timmy fan and read it, you will find several Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the book. My overall vision with my book, We're All We Need, is to embrace a positive mindset within ourselves. The main character puts her trust in the universe, finding that she can manifest anything. There are themes of nightlife, fashion, travel, romance, sci-fi and synchronicities to name a few. One main motivator for writing it was to be able to send it to him as a gift. I eventually want to adapt it into a screenplay. My dream is for him to play the character that he inspired. I will keep writing my short stories and who knows, maybe the next one will inspire another novel!
C&H: How did you get into the Chalamet Fandom and what keeps you here today?
A: After discovering him from Dune Part 1, I was intrigued by him. I was compelled to learn more about him so I did a search and found many of his past press interviews and film q&a sessions. I was impressed by his charisma. He struck me as so much more than just a pretty face. His beauty goes so much deeper than looks. He's charming, kind and hilarious. His kindness was impressive to me, seeing how much he interacts with his fans when he's either out and about, or at an event where fans are gathered. He goes above and beyond expectations, even running to those fans in the distance. This is what hooked me. The other aspect is how he essentially chose to be on films that are pretty intellectual and many are based on literature. Ironically, my favorite film was Interstellar but he didn't come into my radar until Dune. I never realized he was in Interstellar until I heard it mentioned as I backtracked his career before Dune. I was amazed at that revelation. He is such a truly kind and sweet soul. He is ambitious and picks the most interesting films, which in turn shows his range of talent. I will always remain his loyal fan, no matter what the future holds.
C&H: You launched a proposal on Instagram to write a short story based on an edit by Timothée, you chose the work of @mbdavey68 and wrote a short text in first person about Timmy being a screenwriter, I loved it. Is it really as easy for you as sitting with an image in front of you or does Chalamet inspire you enough?
A: A little bit of both! Timothée is always on my mind. His mannerisms, sense of style, his way of speaking are just a few examples of how he inspires me! Music is also a factor. Photos of him take it further. I just get into a flow state when I begin to write. As I'm writing a sentence, it's like I'm a transmitter and I hear and see what will happen next. As if my mind is 3 steps ahead of me and I'm trying to catch up. On some occasions, I notice some synchronistic messages from the universe that somehow confirms something about him to me. It often shows up as something he's done or an item of clothing. I know it sounds a little crazy, but I can't help it. It just happens and I notice them. It was insane while I was writing my novel! I kept getting numerical synchronicities or i'd discover him doing something similar to what I wrote about. As if we were on the same wavelength.
C&H: Those of us who write usually have a ritual before writing, what is yours?
A: I don't know if you want to call it a ritual, but I like to be sitting in a comfortable position. I prefer no distractions, however if it's noisy, I wear my headphones and the music I listen to helps filter out the distracting sounds. I made a playlist on Spotify inspired by him which is my go-to. I search through photos of Timothée and sometimes if I know what I'm going to write, I'll find some additional aesthetic photos to incorporate into the story. I begin to write and I don't stop until I'm satisfied with it. Sometimes it's quick, other times I do it over the span of several days.
C&H: How often do you read stories written by other members of the Fandom?
A: I like to read them when I stumble upon them. There are a few who do this, but it's not very often, to my knowledge. Actually, one particular fan account comes to mind. She essentially inspired me by being the first fan that I've encountered, writing stories about him. Her scenarios opened my mind to perceive him in fan fiction.
C&H: What are your expectations for the upcoming awards season as Timothée enters the game with A complete Unknown and possibly DUNE II?
A: I don't want to jinx it by being presumptuous, however I do believe that he deserves all of the awards he's nominated for. I'm not saying this as a biased fan, but with an admiration of the exceptional talent that he has. He just makes an ordinary role extraordinary! He has so much range, and can tackle several aspects incorporated within his roles, whether it's singing, dancing, doing action scenes, or commanding massive audience halls, to name a few. He has so much talent and I believe he's in the right place, doing what he loves. He is one of the most passionate artists of his time and I'm extremely grateful to be living during the same time as him. It is a joy to watch him evolve in his career. The sky is the limit for him!
C&H: Last year, when the relationship between Kylie Jenner and Timothée came to light, many withdrew and openly showed their anger. How do you live that relationship? Does it affect your perception of who he is in any way?
A: I prefer not to discuss this aspect in detail or specifics. There are so many ideas and speculations out there regarding this situation. I even have my own thoughts, yet I believe this topic is irrelevant to who he is as a person and as an artist. Whatever this encounter was between them, I believe he has grown as a result of this experience.
C&H: Top 3 of your favorite Timmy movies.
A: can I combine Dune 1 & 2 as one considering their both adapted from the one book. If so, my other two choices to round out the 3 are Wonka and Interstellar. However, I'm sure that will change after A Complete Unknown and Marty Supreme get released. In all honesty, I like all of his films for different reasons, so this is a difficult question to answer overall. It doesn't help that I'm a Libra too!
C&H: Three words that define Timothée Chalamet for you.
A: "Artist" for his depth and creativity, "Determined" for his drive and ambition & "Timeless" for his uniqueness in encompassing of all of the above, including his generosity and kindness.
C&H: Your 3 favorite photos of Timmy.
A: I have so many favorite photos that it was difficult to narrow it down. 😅
