Rainy Night

The rain was pouring and you get a text from him. He was back in town and he missed you so much. It wasn't late so you asked him to come over if he wanted. In all honesty, you would've invited him over even if it was late. It was never a bad time for him to come over. He cheerfully accepted your invitation and after you set your phone down you quickly tidied up the place and went to freshen up. You had a busy day and was looking forward to an evening to unwind with him. In what seemed like no time, you heard your doorbell ring. You sprayed some perfume and went to the door. When you opened it, he was standing there in his polka dot blouse, happy to see you. 

You had a big smile when you saw him and gave him a warm hug. He chuckled as he held you, and then said that he's so happy to finally see you again after being away filming for a couple months. You then welcomed him in. He set his umbrella down by the door and you both made your way into your living room. You told him that you missed him too and that it was a happy surprise that he was back in town. He said that the film wrapped early, thankfully. You were relieved, because now you two can spend more time with each other. You offered him some wine and asked him if he was hungry. He said he ate earlier, so you offered him some cupcakes you made instead. 

As you both passed the time together, talking and laughing, you both started sitting a lot closer to each other. You were close friends, but deep down you were feeling something more than that. He put his glass down and looked into your eyes. He said that while he was away, he thought about you all the time. You felt a slight rush of emotions when you heard him say that. You couldn't believe it was finally happening. You both were free. Before it was more difficult because he was seeing someone, and then when he was free, you were seeing someone. Now you both were free. Free to be together, finally! He said that he didn't want to say anything over the phone. You looked back at him in a way as if you just met him. He cracked a smile and you began to smile too. Just then he leaned in to kiss you. As you kissed him back, it felt peaceful. It was as if the universe conspired to bring the two of you together.

The sound of rolling thunder in the distance really set the mood. The moment you felt his lips on yours, you somehow knew that he would remain in your life indefinitely. It was an intuitive feeling. You trusted the guidance you received from your intuition. It never steered you wrong. You both went through many situations independently, which gave you each wisdom and insight. You both had to experience things separately in order to actually appreciate what you have in each other. That's the purpose of life, to have experiences that shape us and help us grow into who we're meant to be. You can now both appreciate being together because you have both evolved through your past relationships and compliment each other in the most ideal of circumstances. He also thought about this. The feeling was mutual. After that kiss, you held hands and gazed into each other's eyes. You didn't have to speak because you both knew how you felt about each other.

The rain got heavier and you can hear the raindrops tapping constantly on your roof. That night, he stayed with you, which was perfect since tomorrow was Sunday. You would have the whole day to yourselves. This night was the beginning of your life together, because as your intuition knew, you were inseparable since that night. Your relationship was full of joy and whenever there was an issue, you both resolved it without any hardship. You complimented each other. Since you were both already complete in yourselves, you had no codependency. You appreciated each other. Learned from each other and traveled at any chance you both can get. It was fun to walk red carpets together and meet his friends, and he accompanied you to your events and supported your creativity. -- Going back to that first night, he held you in his arms as you both listened to the rain. The drops on the window created patterns on you both and the wall behind you with light and shadow. 

This moment between the two of you will be your most cherished memory. The moment your hearts became intertwined. 💞
