Earth = Mars 2.0?
One theory I have (which will seem extremely farfetched to most) is that the moon is a hollow doomsday salvation ship sent here...a type of Ark, if you will, (to Earth orbit) from a dying Mars. The Martians (Possibly our distant prehistoric ancestors) either acquired this body and modified it to be a ship, or built it completely when they realized they will need to relocate the population. Mars had been nuked too many times by either internal conflicts or conflicts from other hostile beings. With the fallout, the surface of Mars became uninhabitable. I assume most elites and chosen individuals were allowed to be boarded the ship while the rest of the population remained and went underground. They probably told them they will scout new planets and then return, but never kept that promise...maybe they lied, who knows? Anyway, the alignment with the Earth is perfect and is the reason we have seasons. The Moon possibly acted as a terraforming machine as well. I assume lander ships were sent down to begin the colonization process and while the relocation thrived, others remained on the moon, possibly to this day to keep observation and some of our governments are privy to that and still hold interactions with them.
In addition, what if the Sumerian, Egyptian and Persian winged disk symbol represented the moon object traveling and the wings were a metaphor for that, instead of the sun, which historians claim? Look at all the possible artifacts left on Mars. View images from the Curiosity Rover. Most seem to have been modified by NASA to hide anomalies. Too many oddities to really make one wonder.
