Night Drive

You were in low spirits when he called. He asked you what was wrong when he heard your voice. You sighed and said that you had a long day. Nothing went right, and you had an argument with your best friend. He sympathized with you, and then he asked if there was anything he could do to help make you feel better since the night was still young. You thought for a moment and said, "There's not much I want to do. I just want comfort and a chance to feel relaxed. " Upon hearing this from you, he got an idea. He suggested that he could come and pick you up and go for a drive together. Your eyes lit up at the idea. You told him that you loved that idea, so you settled on a time and then went to change after you hung up. When he arrived, he had a hint of a smile when you opened the door to meet him. He gave you a warm hug and then looked into your eyes and asked if there was anywhere in particular you wanted to go. You were mesmerized by his crystalline eyes. You said you didn't have anywhere particular in mind. He said, "No problem, we'll just drive." He opened the car door for you, and you got in. He sat in the driver's seat and began to drive. It was a misty night, and it started drizzling along the way. You drove around town, the lights of the buildings and other cars created a beautiful glow, reflected on the wet ground and glass of the windshield. You were both silent as it was peaceful listening to ambient music and looking at the sights. He reached for your hand, and you both intertwined your fingers, resting it on the armrest. At one point, you were driving through a canyon until you arrived at the coastal highway. He continued to drive until you noticed a beautiful area that had a view of the coastline and the ocean below. You pointed to it, and he nodded, eventually pulling in to park. The city lights twinkled, and the sound of waves crashing was the soundtrack of the moment. You both sat there in silence, still hand in hand. He turned to look at you, and you looked back at him,  locking your gaze. He smiled and asked if you're OK. You said that you were now. He looked down in delight and said, "I'm glad." You caressed his hand, and he looked back at you. He then leaned in and gave you a kiss. You did not hesitate and kissed him back. Then you both sat and continued to look at the view. You had a long conversation and you told him that you appreciate everything about him. That was when he told you he loved you for the first time, and from that moment on, you knew he was the one that the universe promised you. Everything that happened between you two was as if it was a divine hand that orchestrated everything. It was the beginning of many night drives, and now you knew that dreams were real.
