Road Trip

     You were spending the long weekend together. Timmy was in between projects so he was free to just chill. It was the perfect time to just explore your state with a road trip, music, the scenery and each other. You decided to wake up early to see the sunrise. After you stopped somewhere to get coffee, you head out onto the open road. You can see hints of light on the horizon. When you got to an area that was like an open field, Timmy suggested that you should stop and really take in the view. You pulled into an area on the side of the road and got out of the car. The air was chilly. Timothée walked ahead and that's when you snapped this enigmatic photo of him with the horizon. He then turned toward you and reached for your hand. He wanted to hold you close as the sun came up. He stood behind you, his chin on your shoulder and his arms wrapped around your waist. It felt very warm and cozy. You both stood there in silence as the sun slowly made its way up to brighten the sky. A gentle breeze made your hair dance, along with his. He didn't let go of you the whole time. Eventually when the sun was officially up, you turned around and faced him. He was smiling and looking into your eyes. He then leaned in and gave you a kiss. It was the best way to start the day. It perked you up more than the coffee could ever do! Then he said "good morning" in a playful way. You smiled and said it back. You both got back into the car and drove off toward your destination for the weekend. A beautiful short-term rental house located in a tranquil natural setting. It's on a hill so you have unobstructed views of the surrounding area. When you arrived there you were both amazed. It looked even better than the online photos. Once you got in, you explored every section of the space. By this time it was evening. You made a platter of charcuterie items and poured each other a glass of cabernet. You then went out onto the terrace to enjoy the view and this time, the sunset. It was getting cooler the longer you were both out there. You both moved into the wide lounge chair so you can cuddle up and watch the stars. There was a cool tower heater nearby that had a vertical flame. It created a warm glow. You both layed there talking about different things. Sometimes you both ended up laughing so hard, you started to have tears of joy. Every now and then, he would squeeze you as he held you in his arms. It was the most loving feeling. You thought to yourself about how lucky you are to have him in your life, to care about you and spend time with you. You turned to face him and this time you initiated the kiss. He was happy to give in as he kissed you back while you were both still laying on the double lounger. He played with your hair and you played with his, your fingers finding every curl. Eventually things were heating up so you both made your way inside. For the rest of the night, you were "enjoying each other's company in the best possible way". You had missed each other so much when he was away, and it really showed. Eventually you both fell asleep by early morning. It was the best sleep you ever had, because you were together. The next morning will be a day of exploring the natural elements of the area and most importantly, making memories together.
