High School
Imagine if you will, you went to high school together. You exchanged eye contact in the hall. He was too shy to approach you because you were always surrounded by your friends. One day, you happened to be alone when you were walking to your locker to get something. He came out of a classroom at that moment and noticed you there. He built up the courage to walk over to you. You didn't notice until you dropped your favorite eraser. It bounced to where he was standing. You watched him pick it up and offer it back to you with a smile. You looked into his eyes as you took it and thanked him with a smile. He briefly glanced over your shoulder when he noticed your friends approaching. He then quickly asked if you wanted to walk home together after school. He noticed that you walked to and from school because you lived on the same block. You accepted, and he had a big smile upon hearing that. You both made plans to meet after school, and then he went to his next class before your friends finally got to where you were. They saw your interaction as they approached and were excited for you. You blushed and told them you were excited too. When it came time to walk home, he was waiting for you at the designated area you decided to meet. Little did you know that this would be your ritual together for the rest of the year. By the time it was summer, you were dating and were inseparable for the duration of your high school years. When you both graduated, you got accepted at different universities. You kept in touch online every day and spent breaks together. Eventually, you graduated and were back together again. By this time, your relationship was serious. You moved in together, and the first Sunday morning you had together, you lay in bed thinking about how grateful you were to drop your eraser many years ago.
